About Me

Hey! I’m Raistlin van Spronsen, while I’m known for my photography and speed skating, there is so much more about me

I’m a photographer, advocate, and lifelong volunteer with a BIG passion for community, travel and events. You’ll find me running around with my camera, connecting with community members, or volunteering in the community. I’m a past coach of the former Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club, I bring a passion and energy to every thing I do, whether it’s at work or out in the community. I’m blessed to call this community my home for over 20 years.

I’m involved in a wide range of organizations:
The Ark Christian Youth Centre, Networks Ministries, Bethel Pentecostal Church, Social Media coordinator and assistant coach for the Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club.

I’ve also volunteered at a wide range of events including; Relay for Life, Terry Fox Run, and this year will be my 5th Hockey Canada event that I’ve been a part of the Game Operations & Ceremonies team. I’ve also been involved in countless Speed Skating BC and Speed Skating Canada events over the years in my role as a Level 2 Heat Box Steward official

When I’m not working or volunteering, you’ll probably find me walking, visiting with friends and spending time with my family

Why Photography

My photography roots date back to early 2009, the exact details I can’t remember however it all took off from there. I began capturing local events, sports and graduations in 2014, in 2018 I expanded to capturing portraits. In 2021, I finally took the plunge an officially registered my hobby as an incorporated business in BC. 

Photography has always been a unique way to express myself through my photos, whether traveling, capturing my favorite sport, local event or working with clients to capture their vision

What makes me different

In the early years (2014 through 2018) I primarily focused on sports and events. While sports was pretty much comprised of speed skating due to my active involvement with our club at the time.

I also strive to keep my prices affordable as it has been my belief that excellent quality professional photography should be available to everyone no matter the budget. This doesn’t mean my prices are extremely low or that I change them to fit their budget. It simply means I am willing to work with clients to ensure they can professional quality images. At the end of the day, no photos are delivered until I am paid in full (I made that mistake before)
